LitCam at the Frankfurt Book Fair

LitCam 2009 With over 7,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, the Frankfurt Book Fair is the largest event of its kind for the media and publishing industry worldwide. Furthermore, it helps organise the participation of German publishers at more than 25 other international book fairs. The Cape Town Book Fair in South Africa as well as the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair are partner fairs. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a subsidiary of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.

The Frankfurt Book Fair 2010 takes place from 6 – 9 October. The Guest of Honour is Argentina.

On the two days prior to the beginning of the Book Fair, LitCam is organising the International LitCam Conference on the topic of “Literacy and Human Rights”.

During the Book Fair, organisers and institutions have the opportunity to present themselves in the LitCam Lounge. The LitCam Lounge is situated near the Education Collective Stand in Hall 4.2 Immediately adjacent to the Litcam Lounge is LitCam Live! – an event platform for lectures, discussions and readings on the topic of literacy.

You will find further information about the Frankfurt Book Fair key focus “Education for the Future” at: www.book-fair.com/education

The LitCam Lounge was established in 2008 to provide LitCam participants with a presentation area throughout the Fair. International and national organisations, publishers, mediators and ministries involved in literacy and basic education are invited to present their work here. The LitCam Lounge is in Hall 4.2.

LitCam Live! 2009 Apart from the presentation area at the LitCam Lounge, the Frankfurt Book Fair also provides the opportunity to hold lectures, readings and discussions on the topic of literacy and basic education at LitCam Live! This event platform is directly connected to the LitCam Lounge and may be booked in 30 to 60 minute time slots. LitCam Live! is primarily conceived for an interactive or partly moderated programme.
